JOB TITLE: Registered Nurse Bone Marrow Transplant Coordinator Aphresis

This RN position is responsible for coordinating all aspects of patient care related to the bone marrow transplant patients in collaboration with the transplanting
physician and the bone marrow transplant interdisciplinary team. Establishes professional and working rapport with patients, families, referring physicians and
support to the operation. Oversees the maintenance of complete and accurate patient records/data and completes patient reports to the Bone Marrow Transplant Registry.
Performs duties to support the goals and objectives of the Geisinger Health System in its efforts to provide quality patient care and patient satisfaction. Responsible
for day-to-day coordination and clinical aspects of a growing BMT program. Provides additional support to the BMT Program by the performance of peripheral
blood stem cell collections and outpatient autologous stem cell transplants.
Works under the supervision of BMT Program Manager, and the Director of The Center for Bone Marrow Transplantation at Geisinger.
Position is split between GWV and GMC requiring travel.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
SPECIFIC POSITION DUTIES:
Travel required between oncology sites throughout the Geisinger System is required.
Note: Orientation/education will be conducted primarily in the central reason.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
RN currently licensed in Pennsylvania required.
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required, Master’s Degree in Nursing Preferred.
Minimum of two years Hematology/Oncology Experience required.
Specialty nurse experience preferred
OCN certification Preferred but not required
Prior Bone Marrow Transplant Coordination and NMDP Experience preferred.
BMTCN certification required to be obtained within 2 years of hire.
Experience with regulatory and accreditation requirements such as FACT, JCAHO, DOH, FDA or other agencies is preferred.
Experience with clinical trials preferred.
