CHRISTUS Shreveport-Bossier Health System has provided health care in northwest Louisiana for over 125 years. This ministry of CHRISTUS Health is anchored by the award-winning CHRISTUS Highland Medical Center in Shreveport, which offers patients access to cutting edge care across a wide range of specialties. The hospital features a strong heart and vascular program, a Commission on Cancer accredited cancer center and a Level III neonatal intensive care unit. In addition to CHRISTUS Highland Medical Center, CHRISTUS Health Shreveport-Bossier Health System features three inpatient facilities: CHRISTUS Bossier Emergency Hospital, CHRISTUS Coushatta Health Care Center and CHRISTUS Inpatient Rehabilitation Center – Shreveport-Bossier. The health system also includes 18 ambulatory care sites across the region, providing robust patient access through the communities that CHRISTUS Health Shreveport-Bossier Health System serves.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer of CHRISTUS Health Shreveport-Bossier Health System, the CMO will assume overall accountability for oversight of all medical practices and clinical quality along with related activities within the ministry. The CMO will serve as the liaison between the CHRISTUS Shreveport-Bossier Health System Medical Staff and the CEO of the ministry. In addition to their responsibilities at the ministry level, the CMO will support System-level initiatives as they relate to the ministry or to CHRISTUS Health on a strategic level.
This position requires an individual who has a passion for providing outstanding care to the community and a desire to improve systems to maximize efficiency. The CMO will be a bridge builder/uniter and someone who has superb communication skills as well as high emotional intelligence.
The successful candidate will have an intimate knowledge of hospital operations, knowledge of CPOE and EMR, ability to use data analytics to drive change of physician behavior and understand the value of building effective relationships with multiple partners and stakeholders in a highly matrixed environment.
